(Under Construction..)
DNA is more commonly known as the secret and sacred code of every species, but it can reach so far beyond that. These can be used as building blocks of many self assembling devices. We tried to explore those in a book where i wrote a chapter :
M. A. I. Mahmood, U. J. M. Khan and S. M. Iqbal, "Nucleic Acid based Encapsulations for Cancer Diagnostics and Drug Delivery," to appear in DNA and RNA Nanotechnologies in Medicine. Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases in RNA Technologies Series, vol. 4, Editors: V. A. Erdmann and J. Barciszewski, ISBN 978-3-642-36852-3, Springer-Verlag, Heidelberg, Germany (2013).
One of the greatest pleasure of studying science is that you get to see and realize everyday the thoughts and ideas of great minds of time. Traversing the same path they traveled through their thoughts can be an amazing journey, if done with little patience.
What else Do I like :
Love photography. Probably the photographic gadgets attract me more. Rhodopsin is an amazing protein, which is responsible for perception of light in the eyes. There are some deep sea species with eyes sensitive to single photons utilizing a technique called FRET. Any such technique translated to a CMOS sensor can enable an amazing low light photography.
It amazes me how all these technologies lie around us just to be observed, understood and utilized.
Micro controllers. Lots of new development here. will update soon.
Sports was once a regular part of my life. Love football (well.. here in US they call it Soccer). Badminton, Cricket ..tried everything. I wish I could put more time in those these days.
Music. Dont claim to be an expert. Yet.
Business. and Industry. I love the part that industries realize our inventions, bring them to use in daily life. I am sure its an amazing feeling to see your years of research being used and appreciated by people.
Travelling. Opens one's eyes. Want to continue till the last day.
